The Abyssal Lantern is a reward that you receive from the Guardians of the Rift mini-game, and you can have different benefits for subsequent rounds of the game.
Firemaking is one of the skills you can train in Old School RuneScape (OSRS), and it can be useful in many quests and mini-games.
The Abyssal Lantern requires varying levels of the firemaking skill to be lit after you have earned it through the Guardians of the Rift mini-game. This skill can have many benefits.
The firemaking skill in OSRS
The firemaking skill is one of the most important skills in Old School RuneScape (OSRS) and helps players light fires and complete other tasks. Firemaking is also the artisan companion skill to woodcutting.
It is important that you train your firemaking skill since you need it to complete various quests and mini-games in the game. Firemaking is also useful because it allows you to cook food anywhere and you can even make a profit from your firemaking skill by fighting Wintertodt. You can also train herblore by making serum from the ashes of fires that have burnt out.
OSRS: Abyssal Lantern
The Abyssal Lantern is a reward that you receive for completing the Guardians of the Rift mini-game in Old School RuneScape. The Abyssal Lantern is quite a rare item and most players have to complete the Guardians of the Rift mini-game a few times before they finally get and equip it.
To use the Abyssal Lantern, you need the appropriate firemaking skill level for the type of lantern you want to equip and you also need a tinderbox. Your firemaking skill can be trained by completing quests, burning logs, and through Wintertodt.
A tinderbox can be purchased from general stores or they will spawn in some locations, such as the top floor of Draynor Manor, in the small shed near the Farming Guild, and on the wrecked ship beside Harmony Island.
Lighting an Abyssal Lantern requires that you burn 6 logs at a time. Every type of lantern requires its own type of logs and provides its own benefits, which cannot be boosted. These benefits can come in handy in the Guardians of the Rift mini-game, where the Lantern is most useful.
Outside this mini-game, the lantern can be used as a light source that can be equipped in your shield spot. There are also many tips that you may find helpful when you are playing with the Abyssal Lantern.
