Sony has strongly hinted that it will finally be giving PS4 owners the ability to change their PSN names soon. The feature has been highly requested among users since the console hit shelves in November 2013, although for one reason or another was never included in the myriad of new content released in firmware updates over the years.
However, according to a new survey sent out by the hardware giant (nabbed by Push Square), Sony is now ‘exploring the possibility of adding a feature to PSN that lets users change their PSN ID.’ Not only that, but the console maker is apparently going to allow gamers to refresh their ID ‘multiple times’ for free, but only once every six months.
On the other hand, if you change your PSN name and want to roll back to your original online tag, you’ll have to contact Sony customer service directly.
